Impact of training and development on employee job satisfaction and retention

Meaning of training and development

Employee training and development refers to educational activities within a firm that are designed to improve employees' knowledge and abilities while also offering information and instruction on how to do specific tasks more effectively.

Training is a reactive, short-term procedure for workers and process, but development is a proactive, continual activity for executives. Employees' goals in training and development are to gain additional abilities and a complete personality.

The management takes the initiative in training with the goal of addressing the current need for fan employees.

In development, an individual takes initiative with the goal of meeting a future need for a fan employee.

“Training is systematic development of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required by an individual to perform adequately a given task or job” (Armstrong, 2001).

“Training is the act of increasing knowledge and skills of an employee for doing a particular job” (Flippo, n.d.).

How does Training and Development effect on Job satisfaction?

How does Training and Development effect on employee retention?

Employee retention is inversely proportional to the amount of rain that falls. Training aids in the retention of employees and the reduction of turnover. Employees who are undergoing training believe that their employer is interested in them and wants to help them advance their careers. He believes that because the organization sees individuals as vital and capable, the employer is willing to invest in them. Employee retention is a result of this, but training alone is insufficient.. (Villegas, 2006)

Conclusion

Because the corporate world is growing more competitive and bringing new challenges to organizations, training and development is critical in today's reality. Sustaining and surviving in such a dynamic environment is a huge and difficult task ahead of them. To survive and stay ahead of the competition, businesses must always develop new strategies to be competitive and provide the finest services to their clients in order to maintain their market share and progress forward. And this will not be achievable if the organization's staff do not update and enhance their abilities in order to keep up with their competition.

Organizations must provide the means to upgrade their employees in order to gain a competitive advantage and achieve the best results, which they can best do by organizing training and development programs that not only improve the employees' skills but also improve their performance, motivation, and job satisfaction. Not only them it will increase employee retention in an organization.

  1. Considering all of the Conners, it's a well-written explanation. T&D is now the most crucial platform that any organization's employees and management require. Instead of boosting staff salaries, this will be a fantastic investment for the company. Employees will never consider relocation if they receive ongoing training and development.
