What is the Diversity management?

Diversity management is a technique for creating and maintaining a healthy work environment in which individuals' similarities and differences are valued so that everyone can attain their full potential and contribute to the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

Workplace diversity refers to the variances in employees that arise as a result of the mixing of people from different backgrounds. Race, ethnicity, religion, and sex are only a few of the factors that contribute to variations in people. Workplace diversity is defined as the blending of people of many races, nations, faiths, ages, and sexes into a group, organization, or society. (Tenas, 2012).

What is the importance of the Diversity management in the workplace?

Organizations will gain a better understanding of target populations and what motivates them if they have a diverse workforce. Benefits of the Diversity Management in the workplace

There are various advantages to working in a varied and ethnic environment. Because the world is becoming more globalized and interconnected, organizations should take advantage of the varied variety of abilities that people from all backgrounds and languages may bring to the table.

We can identify five benefits of the diversity management to the workplace, they are;

·         Increased productivity:

Working in a diversified environment provides for more ideas and processes. Employees with a broader range of talents, as well as a variety of experiences and viewpoints, have a greater chance of increasing production.

Increased creativity: When people from different cultures and backgrounds work together, they have the possibility to be more creative. This is because there are more people with different viewpoints and solutions to problems, which means there's a better chance of finding a feasible solution to a problem at work.

·         Improved cultural awareness:

 Having a varied range of cultures in the workplace assists businesses to deal with the complexities that come with operating in a global market. If a corporation does business with China, for example, having a Mandarin-speaking employee is beneficial and can lead to greater working relations.

·         A good reputation:

 Companies with a diversified workforce are frequently regarded as better employers. Employees want to work for a company that accepts and tolerates people from all walks of life and treats them fairly.

·         Increased marketing opportunities:

When potential employees or consumers realize that a company represents a diverse workforce, they feel more connected to it. Using advertisements that include adult, differently able, or ethnically diverse persons encourages applicants to apply, promotes a favorable reputation, raises market awareness, and develops a more diversified client base.

Conclusion

My opinion is that workplace diversity is beneficial not only to employers and employees, but also to the company's overall health. Everyone will be more open-minded with their coworkers in a diverse workplace. Furthermore, having a varied workforce benefits the firm because they may be the ones to form great relationships with other businesses and attract new clients.
