For several years, a digital workplace has been in use. Paul Miller, the creator of the digital workplace Group (DWG), coined the word to characterize the vast ecosystem of office technologies back in 2009. Since then, workplace digitization has progressed at a rapid pace. It's seldom easy to define what makes a successful digital workplace organization. There are numerous definitions available. Some of these definitions concentrate on a single topic, while others cover a wide range of digital workplace developments. It's a broad phrase, and its definition will evolve as the concept becomes more popular.
What is the Digital workplace?
The boundaries of a physical office are blurred in a digital workspace. It's our day-to-day work's digital ecology. With the support of digital technology, high-quality digital workplaces allow information exchange, collaboration, and create a connected environment where employees have access to whatever they need.
“The Digital Workplace enables new, more effective ways of working; raises employee engagement and agility, and exploits consumer-oriented styles and technologies” (Gartner, n.d.).
How digital technology change the workplace?
Enhanced workplace digitization benefits businesses by boosting productivity, cost savings, a more mobile and agile workforce, and overall increased flexibility and adaptation in an increasingly complicated marketplace.
How can digital employee experience be improved?
That is how workers are connected to digital technology in the office – affects their overall impression of the organization. The way they engage with technology, how dependable it is, how simple it is to use, how it aids them in accessing information and data, and how it aids them in being productive and effective all contribute to a digital employee experience.
While working in digitized workplace, employee can obtain many experiences. Such as;

A digital workplace promotes efficiency and productivity by providing a common platform for workers to access their work-related data. It also allows employees to concentrate on their job rather than switching between various apps or searching for information in different apps.
The general assumption is that happy staff can provide the finest experience for their consumers. So, how can a company get started on creating a positive employee experience? What makes work simpler, quicker, more productive, and more enjoyable? What's the one item that might significantly improve the employee experience in a short amount of time and at a low cost?
Conclusion
Remote working, digital workspace, and the ongoing integration of internet-based office tools are transforming the way we work. Employees that do not work at a desk, such as front line and field workers, are part of this modern progression.
Of course, many businesses have long had flexible work arrangements, recruited a big number of remote workers, and had a huge desk-less workforce. A large number of historically office-based enterprises have switched to digital since the fast increase in digital workplace solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic and related stay-at-home regulations. Around the world, the future of the brick-and-mortar workplace remains questionable.
